Hello dear visitor and Welcome to The Sliced Text Effects Tutorial.

In this tutorial we'll learn how to: manipulate with a various text, how to slice it up and how to give the slices a depth/emboss look.







First of all, create a New Document with sizes of: 720x420 px and color the background in #434343.



Apply some random text on it.



Enter the Layers Properties of the Text Layer and apply these settings:





















...and the result of it should looks like this:



Now, duplicate the "Sliced" layer and rename the copy to - "Sliced 02".
Set the "Sliced 02" at the top on the scale of the Layers Panel and shut down the Drop Shadow effect in the Layers Panel.
After that go to Image > Adjustments > Hue Saturation and apply these settings:



And merge the both layers (Sliced 02 + Adjustment Layer).



Now, grab the Pen Tool of the Tools Palette and draw the random path of the slice.



Right click on the path and chose the option - Make Selection.



Then, hit the Delete button on you keyboard.



Repeat the same process and make even more slices to the merged layer.



Enter the Layers Properties of the layer and apply the Drop Shadow effect:
