1. Open a texture image in Photoshop. Width 600 and Height 340.
2. Go to: Image > Adjustment > level
3. Go to: 3D > New 3D Postcard from Layer.
4. Go to: Window > 3D
5. Select 3D Materials.
6. A dialogue box will appear; Name the new material as ‘Damage’.
7. Now create your text using white color. The font is ‘Cooper Black.’
8. Go to: 3D > Repousse > Text Layer.
Make the following changes:

9. Select both layers.
10. Go to: 3D > 3D Merge Layers.
As the two layers merge, the text will disappear. But that’s alright.
11. Go to: Window > 3D
12. Open the 3D (Mesh) tab.
13. Select your text layer (Damage) from the two options (see below).
14. Choose the 3D Mesh Slide Tool.
15. Slowly drag your cursor across the image vertically. Before you do this, ensure that the selection is on Damage and not the texture area. Your text will reappear. Rearrange it to look like the image below. It must not bulge out too much.
16. Select 3D Light.
17. Select Spot lights, click on create new light and choose New Spot Light.
Make the following changes:
18. In the 3D (Scene) tab, scroll up and select Scene and make the following changes:
This will smoothen the edges of the text.
